New chicken owner in Fairfax County, VA

I live in Fairfax County and want to get chickens but the special permit for lots under 2 acres is very expensive, $450. Were able to have chickens without the special permits?

We applied for the special permit and paid that fee. It was quite the process, but it moved along fairly smoothly. I’m glad we did it, we really enjoy having the girls.
