My silver laced Wyandotte hen is having some watery poop. It looks normal (to me) just a little more liquidy than my other hens. Should I be concerned? It's making a mess of her beautiful back feathers but on further investigation her vent looks normal. Thanks :)

Welcome to BYC. Watery droppings can be normal after drinking a lot of water, but sometimes can be a sign of illness. How old is she? Does she have any other symptoms? When she is dry, you can remove some of the droppings from her vent with a glove, or wash her vent area off with warm soapy water, but be sure and dry her off thoroughly before placing her out in the cold. Here is a good link to read about chicken droppings, both normal and abnormal: http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2012/02/whats-scoop-on-chicken-poop-digestive.html

Thank you! She is about 8 months old and other than the watery droppings she is acting perfectly normal. Just noticed her feathers under her vent get a little gross.
