I am just starting with chickens. Right now I have 2 Isa Brown layers, 1 Light Brahma cockerel, 5 brown sex links, 2 Ameracaunas, and 1 Silkie cockerel. I also have 3 Naked Neck, 3 Cuckoo Marans and 3 Dark Brahma chicks in a brooder box. I am enjoying the chickens a lot, although I do find them to be a little stressful. They seem to be a cause for worry, as so far I have lost 4 baby chicks and one of my adult birds is a bit off. She has been sleeping a lot. I have been tempting her with a variety of different things to eat including plain yogurt and hard boiled eggs. She is one of the 2 Isa Brown hens and is a favorite because she is so tame.
Aside from the chickens, I have 2 dogs and 4 cats. I hope to expand my livestock later this year with sheep and goats. The sheep are going to be primarily for fiber and goats for milk.
I recently moved back to a 10 acre property that I grew up on, now owned by me and my 2 brothers.
So, that is about it for me.

:welcome Sounds like a little slice of heaven. You have come to the right place to learn about your new flock. They certainly can be cause for worry, but also so much fun. Check out the learning center and hopefully any issues you are having will be addressed, if not feel free to post questions in the appropriate forum. I would caution you about adding too many animals too quickly, it is so easy to get overwhelmed and discouraged that way. Concentrate on one species at a time, once you feel you've got it down with chickens, then spend some time and energy learning and preparing for the next additions.
