Hi, My name is Felicia and I live in Gilbert, AZ. I am brand new to the chicken world. We just bought 3 Marans a month ago. Their names are Pearl, Henrietta and Ruth. They are a delight to have. We live on an acre so they have tons of room to free range and eat tons of grass and bugs. We have always wanted chickens and finally pulled the trigger and got them. We are in the process of building a new chicken coop so we can now get chicks. We have one other pet, Dexter, a 5 lb morkie dog. Other than chasing the chickens occasionally, he is pretty good with them.
When we are not taking care of chickens we go camping and riding in the desert or high mountains. Arizona is such a great state to live!
I found BYC while doing my due diligence before buying the 3 chickens. I've also been doing extensive research before we buy the baby chicks. I am certain that I will have tons of questions for you experienced chicken owners.
