New chicken owners in Kansas

Our neighbors and us have combined our efforts to build a coop and run. We now have 12 laying hens. It has been so much fun watching them the last two days. So far the only problem is half the girls are sleeping in the nesting boxes. I've read about that in here so far.. so I'm excited to try blocking the nesting boxes off tomorrow night and see if they will all
roost instead.

you may have to put them on the roost a few times, if they don't do it themselves. When it's dark they will stay put.
