We have a Pullet hen, about 4 months old, who is having trouble walking. We got her from Tractor Supply in February, unsure exactly how old she was at the time, we think she is about 4 months old. She is a pet.
We noticed about a week ago that she was limping on her right leg. It seemed to get better, we thought maybe the other chicks were getting under her and that maybe she came down on the leg funny. However, as of yesterday, the limp is worse and now appears to be the left leg. We've also noticed that it appears the other chickens are plucking her butt. I checked her vent, it is clear and I do not see any discharge. I read a little bit about egg binding but I am not sure if she is old enough to begin laying. I also checked for bumblefoot but both feet are uniform in color and there is no swelling.
Aside from having a lot of trouble with walking and being able to stand, she is acting OK. Her poop is solid and a decent brown color. She is eating and drinking well and preening her feathers.
Please help!
