New Chicken Parents

Hello BYC members! My husband and I are new to raising chickens here in VT! We currently have 8 chicks, 2 of each- RI red, Barred Rock, Buff Orpington, and Auracanas. So far they are doing well and already growing The Orpingtons are our favorite so far and the friendliest. The cat is getting used to the though of sharing our love.
The coop is already built and came with the house and I am currently in the planning stage for the run. With many predators in the woods here I don't think I will free range 100%, maybe only when I am outside working. But lots to do and I am excited to see them grow and start laying!
