New Chicken Person

Hi there, I am a new chicken person, I am trying to find information on how one goes about raising and caring for chickens. The reason I am starting a chicken farm is because of my 18 year old grand daughter. She wanted to have chickens to raise and care for and I happen to have the area needed for this. I have inherited 15 chicks from a friend of a friend. I do not know what breeds we have at this time and hope with a little help to sort that part out in time. The chicks are about 4 weeks old and I have them in a temporary makeshift pen, which was put together quickly as I was not expecting to get into this project so soon. Anyway I am in the process of finding the chicken coop to build to accommodate the few we have acquired so far. I am hoping to get some information from your awesome community.
