New chicken "tender"

I am a 45 y/o single mother of 3 teenagers. My youngest wanted to hatch chicken eggs for a school project and, to make a long story short, we how have 5 chickens. i live in a suburban neighborhood. I have a medium sized coop with attached run. My chicken are about 6 weeks old and doing great! I have a Wellsummer and a Leghorn for sure, the others I'm not sure about. I visited this site a lot during the incubation process and have found a lot of useful info since then. Hoping for fresh eggs in a few months!

did your youngest finish the project? it sounds like you're enjoying tending chickens. So is your youngest still interested, or is it like most kids' pets in my experience - they end up as mum's?
