I have four chickens that are about 9 months old. I will soon be putting eight started pullets in with them that are 18-24 weeks old. Will they get along ok together?

From what I have read from other members here, so long as the chickens are the same approximate size everything should be okay. There will be some pecking order establishment for the next week or two, but unless someone starts to get a little over the top it should be fine. When I added my newest members to the flock, I had to pull out my bully bird for a few days and then reintroduce her. Everyone gets along just fine now.

Good luck!

Really the op should be a good introduction. I always think of it like adding positive and negative numbers. (I am a math teacher, haha)

Older chicken out rank younger chickens + 4, home turf out ranks newcomers + 4

younger chickens + 8 ..... so it should be a wash.

If you have trouble, it might be more about space, adding 8 head of chickens will need a lot more room.
