I have two of these, i know they are hens but what breed are they? I got 5 straight runs and 5 pullets but i'm afraid my straight runs will be all roosters. i am trying to figure out how to use the post pictures part of the board and will post the rest as I figure this out.

this should be a picture of Ben and Jerry, two guineas purchased at the same time.

this is one of the straight runs that I'm pretty sure are all rosters but not sure of the breed

these little white girls are very gentle and easy to get a long with.

oh, and no that's not a picture of Red, and that makes me feel better, hopefully all my reds aren't going to be roosters.

ok, this one is Red and he's the "cocky" one.

PR stands for production red. It is a hatchery version of a Rhode Island Red. They have some white in there whereas, the Rhode Island Reds don't. Production Red hens are for laying eggs, just like the Rhode Island Red but the Rhode Island Red could be a show quality bird. A production red would not be very good for showing.

which one? Red? he has a funny personality. He's the first one to greet me every time I visit. And I say "greet" loosly lol. If I pick up one of the hens, he's right there to check things out. He usually gives my shoe a peck too. I'm hoping that as he gets older he's not going to be too hard to handle.

PR = production red

I think that sweetie solid white one maybe white rock...if it were a leghorn, it would be thinner and flighty.

agree w. the first one being bhrama
