Hi! I got 6 new hens 2 weeks ago. 2 EE, 2 BYM, and 2 very tiny Banties. I know they were all laying the days before I got them. How long can it take before they start up again? Nothing so far. They are all settled in and all seem to be happy with rest of the flock. I'm guessing it just depends on the hen but want to make sure. Thanks!

It could be due to a lot of things, but the most likely option is that they are stressed from moving.
Do you have nesting boxes and oyster shells available? This could help. Just give them some time, they will probably start again soon. Good luck!

They are getting along well, have lots of space, getting plenty to eat and drink, not hiding from the existing birds???
Do you free range?

Took 3 weeks but finally got my first egg from one of my girls. Downside theres blood on it. Still looking up what that means

It's not great, but it's normal. It has happened to me before, it usually goes away in a few days. When this happened to me, I think I read something about a blood vessel popping when a hen first starts laying. Good luck!

I can take a few weeks, sometimes up to a month for them to start laying after a major change like that. Glad you got one, anyway! I get eggs with blood on them sometimes, too. I haven't noticed any ill effects on my birds because of it.
