I have 6 hens and a rooster which I have only had for 6 days now. The first couple of days they were laying 3-4 eggs and now only 1 yesterday and this morning NOTHING! The coop size is good and I am wondering if I am feeding them enough....I give equivalent of two to three cups chicken mash with grit (not free range yet) and a handful of treats (rice, bread, misc. veggies or whatever leftovers I have). Could it be stress or ?????

Most of the time moving chickens from one place to another will reduce or even stop production for a time.

As for feed: give a good quality layer ration. Give them what they will eat in 10 minutes; that will be plenty.

Also, excessive heat will/can cause the hens to stop laying. So, if you are in the South or Midwest right now then this is normal. saladin
