New Chickens To Flock

About 2 weeks ago my neighbor gave us a couple hens and we introduced them to our flock. They are of egg laying age, and laid well for my neighbor. Since being introduced to my flock they have halting laying. Is this normal, and if so when should they resume laying? Also we hatched out two eggs and integrated the chicks in as well, and the chickens killed one of them yesterday. Any ideas why? We have since moved the other chick back out for safety. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

As for the layers - chickens hate change, and will generally lay for a day or two after the move, those eggs were in the pipe so to speak, then take quite a break. That is perfectly normal. How old are the hens?

My 3 originals are a year and the new 5 are at least 2-3 years old. Maybe older. My neighbor don't quite remember.

Do you have any eggs yet? It is pretty normal for their to be a glitch, how long it lasts is hard to predict.
