New chickens!

This morning I went and picked up my very first breeding trio! They are blue/black Australorps.

I’ve been looking for some for a while and thought she had already sold the rooster, so was only planning on picking up the hens. However when I got there she still had him and said I could bring him home with the girls!

They are still settling in to their new digs but so far seem pretty happy.

I’ll try getting better pictures tomorrow once they’ve had a chance to settle in.

We are having the most miserable weather. Not one chicken came out of the coops today, ditto the goats. None of the animals are very impressed except for one of my horses who seems to love being wet and muddy lol.

Didn’t get a chance for any daylight photos (too busy with my human babies lol). Again not the greatest pic but I just wanted to try and capture how beautiful this boy is!

I just looked at the picture again and realized one of the hens laid an egg in the left corner! Guess I missed that tonight lol.

Very nice looking birds. Get those nests built and keep those eggs off the ground! Hope to see pics of little chicks in the future.
