Greetings! I'm Gypsy! I have a fiance, 2 big Pyrenees mixes, and a pit mix Chihuahua. I have a 6 month old daughter, and I now have 4 chickie babies. They are grown hens, but I call them my babies.
I have "Phoenix" an Easter egger Americana, "Big Mama" a New Hampshire Red, "Miss Magnolia" I think she's a Golden Comet, but I'm unsure, and "Love bug" an ISA brown. I had 5 other ISA browns, but I just moved into city limits and could not keep all 9. I had rescued them all from my previous neighbor about a year ago. He was dying from cancer and could not take care of them anymore. (May he rest in peace
)
They were in rough shape when I first got them. The 4 I have I believe are older hens. They do not lay much anymore, but I'm ok with that. We are helping them live out the rest of their days in peace and soldier fly larvae
when they pass we will get some new babies to start again and to teach my growing daughter about how to take care of them. I am 100% new to chickens and so far I love them! I am officially addicted
I am here for advice, wisdom, and friendships. I'm in Knoxville TN if any of you happen to be close by.
Blessed Be my fellow chicken lovers!
