New chickie question - please help!

We have a total of 9 day-old or a couple hour old chicks. A couple of them had pieces on shell stuck on them and their fur is kinda dried and matted. Should I attempt to clean them when we remove them from the incubator?

Also two have dried stuff on their tommys - same question as above.

No they are fine. Leave them in the incubator until they dry off and the shell frags will just fall off.

The last chick in the bator that hatched from my brahmas this week was dried and matted.....It was the last one to put in the brooder with the others I can't tell it from the others now......I'm always afraid I would chill one so I don't clean ....
