We have 4 new baby chicks (1-2 days old) and 8 baby chicks (6 days old) with their mommas in separate quarters. The mommas have been together in the same coop since birth. Can all the mommas and babies be put together in the same coop now, or should we wait a certain amount of time?

I have 6 hens all with chicks in one pen but they've paired up and each pair has its own area and shares a brood, 2 pairs have 9 chicks and the others have 8 they don't mix even though all the chicks hatched on the same day, eggs moved from the bator on day 17. Previously all the hens were broody together. I introduced another broody with 2 chicks after a week and the others all went for her so had to take her out again. Not sure what other people would advise but I would try it and watch very carefully for the first few hours. Good luck!
