4 weeks ago, I put a couple day-old chicks under my broody buff Orpington.
She has been raising them beautifully, and they're all in the flock together (they sleep on the floor of the coop, while the rest of the flock sleeps on the roosts).

My questions:
would she accept more chicks at this point?
any idea how quickly she might get broody again?

Thank you for your advice!

She may, but it's very unlikely. Especially if they are younger then her other chicks, she is more likely to reject them. At 5-8 weeks is when I typically notice hens starting to ween their chicks, letting them wander away further from her, not calling them to dinner, teaching then to roost, etc.

I'm guessing that mama won't go broody again any time soon. Seems like it happens about once a year?

Depends on the induvial bird. Some hens will only go broody once or twice a year, others will go broody whenever they get the chance. This year I had one broody hatch and raise chicks for 5 weeks before leaving them (which is earlier then most). A week later I found her sitting on eggs all over again.
