New chicks and vitamin question

Hi everyone. I'm new to the site and have enjoyed reading various threads over the past few weeks.

We received our chicks this morning and I'm very excited.

I have a question. The info on Ideal's website says to give them vitamins after 3 days, is this necessary? If so what should I be looking for at the feed store?

I never got chicks from Ideal but someone will get on here will get on here and help you. I just wanted to say:

I like Avian Charge 2000 it's a powder & lasts a long time for me (only have 3 chooks) I think it is good to have on hand for emegencies & for preventative measures.

Do you have to give it to them - no
Would they be better off for it - you bet!

We ordered 2 each of Black Australorp, Rhode Island Red, New Hampshire Red, Buff Orpington, and Delaware. We received 11 live Ameraucana packing peanuts

Just noticed your name - do you have any pictures of your yurt?

We don't live in a yurt anymore, we had to move when my dh lost his job. One day in the future I would love to get back to that kind of living though. Here is what it looked like when we had it set up.
