New chicks and year olds

Last year we bought 8 chicks from TSC, raised them all successfully.
We are going to get some more chicks in a few weeks time.
My question is, when they are ready to go outside can keep them in the same coop as the year olds?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I usually build a little nursery out of 2 x 4's and chicken wire and keep them in the coop with the big girls until they are about the same size before I let them out. This way, the girls get used to them and they can take care of themselves when picked on.
