New chicks arrived, one extra sleepy HELP

My chicks arrived early this morning. All 4 seemed to be bright eyed and active, but now my Delaware seems very sleepy. She is the smallest, but was the first to find the food and water and ate and drank very eagerly. Now 2 hours later, she seems a little wobbly and just wants to sleep and another chick keeps pecking her eye. What should i do?

I am not sure whats wrong with her maybe nothing but I would seperate her from the others just in case and watch her. If somthing is wrong you will know pretty quick she won't like to be alone if she is ok. But give her a little time to be sure. I hope this helps!

I am assuming that you are giving them an electrolyte chick starter in their water. You may need to make a little batch of a stronger starter water and get him to drink that. You may have to dip his beak a few times for him to start drinking it. GOOD LUCK!

Sounds normal to have at least one that's wobbly, if your don't already have the sugar water set up for them, I'd do that first. It could just be a little cold and uneasy, give it some time, but don't worry to much, out of 16 we had 2 just like that for an entire day but after drinking and eating and under the heat lamp they turned out just fine.

Thank you for the replies. I have electrolytes in their water. I separated that chick, but she was upset. Very active and chirping non-stop. So i put her friend (RIR) in with her and she was much happier. Then the RIR hopped out and the Delaware followed suit. Of course after she got out she started acting very sleepy again, and my Americana went back to pecking her eye! So, then i tried separating the aggressor, which worked great until she hopped out. I need a taller box to separate them in. After reading your replies, this seems to be normal. I guess im just a worried first-time fuzzybutt Mom

Oh you are a new mom! We are all like that with our chicken babies and our human babies. On the 4th of July one of my hens got on the dirt road in front of my house. A tourist hit her and left her to die in the road. My hen is black and it was broad daylight so he had to see her. I was, and am, devestated!! She was one of my babies.

We have a bantam RIR that was super sleepy for about a week.. then before I knew it, she/he was back in action. Only time shall tell. And im sorry bout your hen that meet the car

Our chicks like that usually die.

Just around a few months ago we got home from TSC with a bunch of baby chicks. We had three Porcelain D'Uccles that we were very excited about. Then one of them started looking ill and it just died. It happens sometimes.

I think she is OK now. She is still a little sleepier than the others, but has been eating, drinking, and scratching the bedding with them.
