New Chicks Arriving

Hello! I am completely new to the chicken world. I am awaiting the arrival of my first chicks. I have ordered 10 Barred Rock chicks from a local feed store. I ordered the unsexed box thinking it would be fun for my kids and I to guess their gender. Now I am terrified that I will be receiving all boys! Lol! Any suggestions or advice is welcome! We live in Texas with very high heat and humidity so I am planning on keeping them inside my house with a heat lamp for the first weeks of their lives.

Congrats on the soon to be new chicks!! Barred Rocks are fun to keep. Lap sitters if you train them early on. Usually hatcheries are pretty good at sexing, although that's not to say that a cockerel doesn't slip in once in a while. It happens. Praying you get all pullets!!
