Hi, I just got 3 chicks today. These are my first chicks ever. The girl I got them from raises show goats and realized quickly that she didn't have time for chicks. She guessed the breed on one and said the other 2 were "frizzles" (but not what breed). She didn't know sex on any of them. She did say that they would all lay olive eggs (if they're female) but that sounded like a guess too.

Here's all 3. From left to right they are:
*Virginia. 2 weeks old. No tail feathers yet. A little bit of feathers on legs. Cute little curly feathers on wing tips.
*Penelope. 3 1/2 weeks old. Curly all over. Lots of leg and feet feathers.
*'Merica. 2 weeks old. Has some tail feathers. This is the one she said was "Ameraucana". 'Merica has no leg feathers.

Virginia

Penelope

'Merica wouldn't hold still for a pic

Any help or guesses will be appreciated.

Thanks

I got some better pictures while we were playing outside. All genders implied is just based on our guess so far. Our guesses are based on nothing much, please correct me if you think differently. We are also looking to identify breeds.

Virginia's head. She's a little scared of people but warmed up quickly. She's also the smallest of the bunch. This is the one with the curly wing tips.

all 3 cuties. you can see Penelope's foot feather's and 'Merica's little mohawk. (Virginia's booty looks like a chipmunk but you clearly can't see it here.) Once Virginia got tired she kept crawling under Penelope. 'Merica did it once or twice too.

'Merica's head. He's fast and more skiddish than the others. He was hard to photograph. He seems to jump very well and doesn't mind being held briefly .... if he gets caught.

Penelope's head. She loves to sit on top of my shoulder and head. She jumps up, has a look around and flies down. The others treat her like a mama and she looks after them. I almost forgot to mention that her throat is white.

if they should lay olive eggs (if females) than they would be olive eggers, which is basically a mutt. Let them get a little bigger and we might be able to guess what was used to make them

Ok, we've had the babies 8 days now so I wanted to update the pics to see if we have any guesses on sex or breed (or breeds contributing to the mix).

'Merica is getting tall. His (her?) mohawk is getting taller and has more feathers. They are hard to see here but there are really thin fuzzy and LONG feathers along his (her) neck, they are whitish grey. The big kid feathers are black, grey and tan.

Penelope is 4 1/2 weeks. Her (his?) legs and feet are getting really fluffy. She (he?) wouldn't sit to be photographed because the little chicks were peeping loudly for her (him?) She (he?) flew up on my shoulder, walked across my back and flew down into the tank with the little ones.

Virginia is still the smallest but is standing up taller now. Her (his?) big kid feathers are dark grey or black and they come out curly. She (he?) has the most developed comb and the thickest legs. She (he?) is a good hunter and is the loudest. She (he?) is rumpless so far. Virginia might be Uncle Virginia?

All guesses are eagerly anticipated and equally appreciated. :)

Typically males feather out later than females, I would say Virginia is a Virgil. The other two seem to be feathering out nicely, my hopes are hen but I think it might be too soon to tell on them.

I'm gonna have to get used to calling Uncle Virginia "he". Fingers crossed for hens on the other two, we were hoping for 2 hens and a rooster.
