New chicks eat my hair

My two week old chicks like to climb on my shoulders, which I think is cute, but while they are up there they often peck at my hair and eat strands of it occasionally. Is this bad for them? Should I be concerned?

if there was a hair brush on the ground they would peck it and eat whatever came off it. The chicken digestive system is pretty straight through. Mouth stomach gizzard tush.

Put your hair up in a hat. I would not encourage it. Our parrot did that and they do it because they are preening you the chicks do it because they are pulling at something that attracted them.
