Hello all!
After a few weeks of our broody hen laying on a nest in our hay barn (I didn't want to move her, as I didn't want to stress her out) she has successfully hatched 6 little chicks! When we saw this, we moved her and her chicks to a safe little enclosure (pet carrier) as there are a few more eggs that haven't hatched. I put in some food and water for them. I went and purchased a large wardrobe box from a moving supplies store, so that's ready to go as a makeshift brooder.
I'm wondering when to move her and the chicks inside the brooder once they've hatched? Some of the chicks hatched last night (thursday pm). Thanks so much! Sooo happy....
