(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My wife and I are new to raising chickens, but we like to raise our own vegetables so this seemed like a natural next step. We first got chicks last week.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
11, we had 12 but one of the dogs broke through the chicken wire around the swimming pool we are keeping them in so now we have a second layer of chicken wire at the door to the shed.

2 Easter Eggers (straight run)
2 Barred Rock (straight run)
4 Dominque (straight run)

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My wife and I have 4 cats (Rat, Rascal, RJ(Rascal Junior) and Rhapsody) and 2 dogs (Rhody and Riplee). I had 4 of the pets before my wife and no, the naming convention wasn't started on purpose but when you have Rat, Rascal and RJ and you get a dog that is part Rhodesian Ridgeback, you have to name her Rhody. The first pet we got together was Riplee, as in Riplee's believe it or not we have another animal. And then Rhapsody is a Snowshoe Siamese with blue eyes. All of our pets are rescues, so mostly, they find us.
We actually live in the city and don't have a lot of space so we are building the chicken coop on the side of our house. It is going to be 5 ft by 8 ft and we have already started the structure. We are going to have 4 nesting boxes and I'm using nipple waterers and PVC pipe feeder. I will post pictures when I'm done.
