new chicks into old chickens lol

Here is my delema I have laying hens not quit a year old as yet, I have young chicks about 10 weeks and ready to go with the big girls they are in pens next to each other so they see each other every day I tried to put the biggest one in with the older hens and they tried to tear him apart. so how do I do this just put them all together and see what happens as i was told by a egg man near me. lol he says it will be ok well im asking all of you also if this works i have some 5 weeks old that will need to be added in a while thanks in advance Art

Never add one bird into a group. Adding a little chick alone is especially not good.
Tonight, around 8:00 (everyone will be asleep), put all the new birds in. Tomorrow morning you will see the pecking order in play. Blood draw isn’t normal. If you see a little blood, use Blu Kote, return the chick (use your judgement) and tell everyone that you are turning into a Smurf or an Oompah Loompah to explain your funky colored hands.

i let the big girls out

Let them all out together where there is more space for the chicks to get away if the older girls are pecking them. I do this whenever introducing more chooks, adults or chicks.
