We ordered from MM. I called them today and they said the chicks were sent out yesterday. i am scared they might not make it alive. My postmaster wasn't very nice when we informed him they were coming last week.
Should I be so worried? This is the first time we have ever ordered chickens. Actually these will be the first chickens we have ever had ...lol

Also we have the bathtub set up for them it's 93 degrees, the food is ready and all we have to add is water and the babies

Will the tub be fine?

A couple more questions...sorry.

What does it mean when it asks below "subscribe to this topic"

And what does DH mean? I have seen it in a few posts?

Thank you all!

The tub should be fine for a while until they learn to get out!!

DH means Darling Husband and if you subscribe to topic it will let you know in your e-mail if anyone has responded. It helps to keep track on here (the posts that really interest you).

Chicks can go their first 72 hours without food or water, so I wouldn't be overly worried yet. Mine were shipped on a Wednesday and didn't arrive till Friday and I only live six hours from the hatchery.
DH = darling husband or other words can substitute when darling doesn't seem quite right.

I don't have a DH. I have an SO (significant other), but he'll be my DH in May.
Sounds like you're all ready for your chicks. Others have used a bathtub just fine I've read.
As far as temp. yes, it's great to have a thermometer but let your chicks be your guide. Huddled under their heat lamp and peeping loudly, they're too cold. As far as possible away from the heat lamp and (possibly) panting and they're too warm.
Good luck!

I for one will be getting my first chicks this spring also so I can only awser the last two.
