ok so picked up BR chicks today. 3 day olds. One is acting strange. It has eaten and now it is standing up tall, stretching its neck, and shaking its body. Is it normal? Should I be worried? It’s pecking at its feet and sleeping. (sorry if this makes no sense) I had one last year that passed and I really don’t want this to be the case. Can’t figure out how to post video.. any help would be appreciated! That is their setup: once they get older they are moved into bigger one

She’s not doing just a crop adjustment yawn thing, is she? Or the warrior chick stretch a wing? But something else?

Also, she just drank a little water, was sleeping, and I tried to check to see if anything was stuck in its throat, but she wouldn’t cooperate.

She’s stretching her neck and shaking her body? I wish I could post a video! It would make more sense

Just to make sure nothing is stuck in her crop, hold her upside down. If she drank water and that falls out it could indicate a blockage!

My sister did it and said nothing came out. Is that good? It is the one closest to the box.

I have two BR that were hatched Monday. I had one that hardly moved at all today and stayed under the heat. Even when I went to pet her or pick her up she just sat there. I dipped her beak and got her to drink and then she stayed by the water and kept drinking and seemed to perk up. Hoping yours is ok. I am new too so just keeping fingers crossed.

Thank you! She drank a little water and now sleeping with the others

Update: she’s ok, saw her drink more water:) seems ok as of right now. Thanks for your help everyone!

When they’re so tiny I find myself getting stressed over stuff I wouldn’t care about in an adult. But I figure if I see them drink, eat, and poop, then they’re likely to be ok. Hope she’s still doing well.
