I have had my chicks for the last 4 days and all seems well so far except for a few cases of pasty butt. I have 13 Faverolles and 3 Buff Brahma chicks. One of the Faverolles had a goopy eye when I received them. I cleaned it up a but with warm water and tweezers to get the tiny feathers un-stuck and I noticed that eye has no outer eyelids. The upper eyelid may be there but there is definitely no movable lower eyelid. It does still have and use the nictitating membrane. Has anyone else had a chick like this and did it cause problems? I forsee this chick getting eye infections when dust and debris become part of its life.
