New Chicks

When I build a coop I am getting more chicks.
Golden Laced Wyandottes
Dark Brahmas
Barred Rocks
Partridge Cochins
Buff Silkie Bantams
Salmon Favorelle

Are these good breeds, or should I make some switches?

Ah, the age old question of which chickens are best for me. I think that you should get the breeds that you like and you find aesthetically pleasing. I find that all breeds have their benefits. I used the chicken finder on MyPetChicken to help me to find breeds that are winter hardy and docile (I have small kids).

In my opinion (I have three of those breeds) you have made good choices. I also agree that you should read up on the breads so you can make the best choices for your situation. By the breeds that you listed i have a feeling you have done this already. Good Luck and welcome to BYC
