New chicks!

We got our last of 12 new chicks for this year. We had a dog attack last Fall. So we will be in eggs come I think August!!
Since Bantams are so broody and don't lay all that great. We have 4 of those girls.
Our older chicks are 2 Barred Rocks and 2 Buff Orbingtons
The new chicks are 2 BOs, 2 Black Sex Links, 2 Auaracanas (spelling?) and 2 other kind I'm not sure now what they are!!
Should be a good mix. And to my husbands pleasure all large eggs, I think.

The last time I had chickens was about 6 years ago. My brother and I had 25 at his house. A pack of at least 3 dogs ripped through the wire and massacred them....except for one who got high enough to stay away. Great hen! Very sweet. She was the lone hen and just chilled with the cats and the dogs. We lost her last month to a skunk.

I am taking extra precautions with my baby chicks this time!! Fort Knox!!
