I apologize prior to writing this as I am new to any type of forum, so I'am not sure if I just start in with my question.
My hen laid her eggs in a nest about 4 feet off the ground. Its inside the chicken run however she hatched 4 chicks in a small area I made for storage. Should I move her and the baby's or will she get them down herself?
 
Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2, move them if you can asap, when she leaves they will try to follow her and will just jump off the shelf when she jumps down and that fall could kill or hurt them, she will not carry them down or anything.

X3..I would move the momma and her chicks as they can fall out of this high nest. Enjoy your momma and her babies and welcome to our flock!
 
Thank you all for the welcome. I did take her ( Willa) and her chicks off the shelf. She is such a good mom.
She had laid these eggs up on this shelf and I did not take them down just to see if she would sit on them. The other chickens had been picking on her so I thought she was just trying to get away from them. I thought she was acting sick and was going to take the eggs out from under her. What a surprise.
