Consider getting inexpensive monitor so you can check on them from the house.
Some folks have posted issues with TSC of getting different breeds or more roos than they expected. They usually have brochures for orders that list the breeds they will be getting. Try to decide what you want and be familiar with what the chicks should look like and if you are wanting eggs, stay away from the straight runs.
Yes I heard the same thing about TSC, also heard that getting 'chicks' there is like getting your goldfish at a carnival However, I really love shopping there for other things. With that said I looked into a Farm store located in the next town over and they've listed all the breeds and the date that they'll have them. However, I don't know if I'll have the same problem with not knowing the sex.
What is the scoop on getting rescue chickens....has anybody got any experience with this?
