Okay, okay, I couldn't resist. I stopped by TSC on my way home and there were 6 chicks left. That is it! And they were black. Just like my favorite chicks from last week. And in the pullet bin! And then the girl pointed out they had feather feet....cochins? I forgot to order a Cochin through my feed store!

How could i resist? I DID resist the huge new batch of ducklings that included Khakis aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Just barely.

Are these black cochins? That is my best guess! They seem very small. Hopefully they are not bantams!

Black cochins???

Some have yellow sprinkled on their head...what does that mean? Anything?

These are Cochins....but are they black or something other color? No idea how the color of baby chicks work....

Well then, anyone want some bantam cochins in a few months? Ha ha ha. I had not planned on getting any bantams but got struck by the omgsocute chicken bug in the store. They were really "quiet" yesterday, not wanting the water or anything but to huddle, so I was a little worried....today they look a bit better and are all still hanging in there.

i'm keeping my fingers crossed, but do plan on reducing down to 1 or 2, once they are bigger and I know what they will turn into.

Bantam cochins anyone? I am assuming they are black, with maybe a barred or mottled in the batch. They are awfully cute.

Alright, of the 6 chicks....3 are feathering in BLACK and 3 almost look like they are barred....

I only have a camera phone and the lighting is bad......might be hard to tell.
