That was my observation too.Hmm in the light mode with the contrast turned up to +40 the site is readable even with the poor colors.

That's odd, it only changes BYC on my computer.I uninstalled it because it changed the colors of all the web pages... ☹

Click the sitelist tab, then click invert listed only and make sure that backyardchickens is the only one listed (delete others is any are there. If any pages are still the wrong color, do an F5 (refresh) and that should fix them.Didn't work for me it still changed all the web sites to dark even if I set backyardchickens.com to light or dark. Seems like once you enable it it changes all web sites to the default.
Hopefully the owners of this site will see how hard it is to use and change the colors to a color with more contrast. While it might be in style for the younger crowd it's a terrible choice for us mature chicken keepers. I'll check back in a month or so and see if the colors have improved.
