new coop almost ready

next on the list: the pop door and some roosts.
I got 2 dog runs off of craigslist for $100. I plan to connect to 2 of them making a 10X18 run. I will cover the bottom of the chain link with hardware cloth and the top with something. chicks will be 1 week old tomorrow, I better hurry up.

4X8 base, walls are 6' plus the vaulted ceiling ( I wanted to be able to stand up comfortably). hen boxes are 20w X 12d X 14h, there was suppose to be 3 of them 12 wide, but by the time I got done insulting them there was not enough room for 3. Put a tv and a recliner in there and I would love to call it my home. Great coop... I love the overall look. I see there will be plugs too....

Looks great! We used dog run for our chicken run in the past - it worked well.

That is kind of what I want to do for my Icelandics. The platform I am going to use is 4ft x 5 ft. I like the idea of the nestbox on the outside.

4 X 8 gets pretty small when you add everything (wall studs 2@ 3.5" + wall boards 2@ .75" + insulation 2@ .5" = 10.5" of loss to you dimensions. 4 X 8 almost becomes 3 X 7 on the inside.
