New coop and chicks!

That is a beautiful coop your chics will be happy.
I just started building my coop today and it is also 8x8 for 12 chics.

(Newbie too) LOVE the coop .I really like the storage above the nest . Just got my 34 chicks from MMH and still in the planning the coop mode.....will use that idea though........What size are the nest boxes?

The nest boxes are 12 x 12 x 12, sized that way based on recommendations from this board.

The openings are a bit smaller than those measurements, because we put boards across the fronts to create a lip to keep the straw in.

Of course, my little ones are nowhere near laying yet, so I can't provide you with user reviews, but at least to my eye, they look to be a good size and look like they will work well.
