New coop and pen on dirt...Need some advice

Good information in the article! We had one nasty storm last night and only one spot that shows signs of water...good news..I will take out most of the dirt and put in good ole sand..love that idea for it looks nasty with the clay and rock we have here. The gals will be limited to the pen because i am in a subdivision unless of course they get away on me. That will probably be another post looking for help on getting chickens back into a coup. I must add that i was raised as a city girl and totally out of character for me to have hens. Even the contractor was taking bets on how long I can do it. I did not tell him about this forum and all the help I can get thanks to you all.

Still haven't figured out how to post the picture but it is uploaded at least that is what the screen says.
 
I did get some sand today and will be digging out the dirt and then adding the sand. I want to thank you all for your kind responses for it is appreciated. If i can ever figure out how to post some pics I can share with you all my project.
