New coop and run... DONE

Quote:
I think what "apron" means is that you attach wire to the bottom of your coop, dig down and run it out 2 feet from the outside. That way if an animal tries to dig at the base of your coop/run, they cant...even if they take a step or two back. Also, you'll want to put some heavier wire over the chicken wire around the lower half of your run...chicken wire can be easily ripped by predators, even dogs.

Hope this answers your question. Great set-up by the way!

ok that is what I thought ... and that is exactly what I need too.

added some more pics of the chicken shanty. We have plans for a much nicer set up but right now the shanty will have to make due. The feather pigs are lucky theu are getting a shanty. Our old coop was a junk camper

Maybe next year they will get a proper little backyard chicken castle.

Very nice I've been looking and thinking over a lot of coop/run plans and I think I'll be building one kinda like yours thanks for the idea.

Put up 2 pics from last night doing some interior decorating. Today I need to go pick up the corrugated roofing so we should have it completely finished tonight. IF the rain allows it!

ah doesn't the sound of 'completely finished' sound good? I couldn't have imagined it would take so long to build a coop ... so much to do. And your comment 'god only knows what else' - isn't that the truth!!

Good looking home for the "feathered pigs". Never heard that phrase before but it sure fits. Haven't seen much that a chicken won't eat. I agree with Dave about the treads for the inclined entry plank. Makes it a little easier for those days when they don't feel like flying or sliding.
