It was time to upgrade our coop and build a much bigger walk-in space for more hens and easier maintenance. The new coop is built on 8ft x 12ft space and comprised of mostly reclaimed lumber and modeled after the Walk-in Garden Coop. We collected used wood from old projects, friends, local businesses, scavenged alleyways and even utilized craigslist. Most of the screw and door hardware were even reused from old fences. After 20+ hours of sanding, refinishing, painting, and building the new coop is move in ready for our girls and can't wait to get more.

Enjoy!

Looks good. Are those fence pickets used for the siding? its hard to tell in the video. If so did you stain then different colors or is it actually reclaimed wood?

Thanks...They are old fence slats that I sanded and finished with teak oil and water seal. Most of them were in bad shape. We painted an few of the panels then sanded them to match the distressed worn look
