New Coop! Feel free to tell me what you think!

I plan on making a nice run after the grayish/bluish building next to it (see pictures). I plan on making that as big as possible, probably 300sf or so!

I'm in Michigan and didn't know about weasels either until the hardware guy told me that 1/2" hardware cloth should keep them out. So far it has and also kept the coons from reaching in and grabbing. Nice coop and it will be awesome when you get your run done.

it looks really nice, but i have two questions, how do you clean it, like the bird droppings, and also, i see you live in an urban area with dense housing, do the neighbours complain about the cluck of hens and crowing of
roosters? I'd like to own some chickens some day as well, so trying to get some info! thanks!

oh and how do they do in winter? do you need to have heaters in there? and if you do, how do you run electricity to the house?

Hey Silverfern, The coop has a large door on the other side, so all I have to do is sweep the pine shavings out of the door. And I do not live in an urban area, I do have neighbors but we're more in a rural setting. My neighbor has a rooster that crows all day every day,I know them all very well, and they don't complain, infact most of them stopped by to see the chicks; because many have chickens themselves! We do not live in a housing development, the picture may give that impression but behind the coop is a fence (ours) and behind that is our house. The coop is a good 200 yards or so in either direction from any house, other that my own! Also, it doesn't get very cold here in the winter, it hardly ever gets below freezing; I don't think it did but once this past winter. If I HAD to run some type of heat, I guess I could just use a drop cord from our detached garage (only about 15 feet away), connecting that a brooder lap. However, I do not plan on having to do that. Thanks for the questions!
