New coop finally done **pics**

What is the framed out section on the floor for...?

Framed out sec is going to have 1/4 inch steel netting and that's where food and water will be so excess falls to the ground and not my floor

Siding is going on today just have to put nest boxes and roosts in and it will be ready for the chiks to move in

You might want to rethink this. With your coop built close to the ground like it is. The rats are going to be real thankful for you giving them a covered place to live, with a steady supply of food dropping into it. I would rather worry (And you won't have to, if the feeder is set up properly) about some food hitting the floor, than setting up a perfect RAT habitat With a steady food supply.

I'm afraid i'd have to agree with JackE unless you have designed a way to retrieve what might fall through the wire. I find that a small amount on the floor gets eaten anyway after a little scratching around for it...

Its raised off the ground enough for all 4 of my barn cats to keep the mice problem under control
