Started building our new coop today. Not much to show just now.

We are building, note the we part, DW doesn’t know yet she is helping….. I hope lol.

The shed/coop is for our girls, and hay that our 2 longhorns.

It will be 16 feet by 10 feet. A 10x10 section is for the hay, and the remaining area is for the girls.

So today I sank 4 line posts, 12-foot long 4x4s that are sunk 3 feet and cemented in.

Thanks to everyone who have posted pictures of their coops, this has helped me no end in my design.

I wanted to fit an automatic poop door, but I fund the cost of this unjustifiable, so being a bright spark, I worked as an electrician for 14 years, I bought all the parts to build one myself, just hope I can get it to work.

I will update as the progress continues, just hope the weatherman is wrong with his 80% prediction of rain tomorrow.

The 4 new posts, 6 more to go tomorrow

Not sure Butch is to happy about all this work lol

Progress has been slow, but I am getting there. Finished framing the floor, and I am hoping to get the floor down this weekend

One of the girls was ove earlier on, just to check out here new home

Another had to check out the garage, not sure why, but this has been the #1 hangout

Dang, that's a very nice looking cow!! I too am jealous, as I'd love to have one myself. Your progress looks to be coming along just fine. I'm interested in seeing this when you are finished. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing.

On Sunday, we managed to get the coop floor in, and the separating wall

Today, I got the floor down for the hay shed, and the framing for the roof. Starting to look like a shed at last
