Yes... we finally have leaves. Actually my neighbors have leaves, our tree is a slow bloomed. It is getting there.

Well... here we are in July and still not done... But we are much closer. The heat has been insane so we shelved it for air conditioning...

Here is the current status and we are almost there. We decided to raise the coop due to our winters. We will be putting lattice around the bottom to look nice. Mostly just astetic stuff left to do... Oh... And connection to the run itself.

LOL ... we would never be able to deliver. He is a perfectionist and it takes him forever to get things done. We had to shingle the roof twice cause I did it a little off and he had to fix it. I am once again a spectator.

This is fabulous! You and hubby have put so much time and thought into it. It is beautiful and you and your girls will be able to enjoy it for many years to come. Nice job!

This past weekend, hubby finished the "Sky Walk" from the coop to the run. Last night we attached the "deck" inside the run (at the end of the Sky Walk which is approx. 3 1/2 feet off the ground)... and in the following picture... Emily is helping daddy measure out the ramp from the deck to the ground...

that this will be done this weekend and I can start moving my girls in. Will upload new pics when completed... (a friend of mine said the coop is nicer than our house... not sure if I should take that as a compliment to my hubby's handiwork, or an insult to my house

I love it!!! It's just so darned adorable! Your little silkie helper is sweet, too! I love the idea of the little deck that comes off your "sky walk". That is just so darned cute! I might have to do something like that for mine, too. My coop is pretty high up and was thinking of having some kind of landing- well, here it is!! Awesome! I'm still framing walls... Sigh. Your run looks really nice, too. Will you be taking another picture of that? Would love to see how you set it up.

I will take some more pics tonight and include the run. I think it is 7' x 18' (maybe a little longer). I have the coop up high so I can take care of. The kids will leave for college someday and it will be up to me to maintain. The way my doors open, I can take the wheel barrel and just use a hoe or something to pull everything out the door and into the wb. Easy cleaning for me.

We currently have the old coop in the run, it is much smaller, but that will come out once the new coop is done. I wanted my girls safe, wanted a bigger run... and so forth. Here is a pic of our original set-up.

It was good to start with... but I am very happy with our new progress. Plus, the kids were done with the swing set... the trampoline is now gone... more room in the yard means more room for the CHICKENS...

My kids will grow up and leave me... my chickens are stuck with me.
