I'm not sure how many hens I can fit in there...but we're making another run that will be attached to the right on this one and extend out another 6 feet - so I should have room for LOTS!

The girls all seem to like it a lot in there and they have plenty of room. There is 1 roost up in the coop now and we'll get some more put up this weekend.

We're also going to put up electric fencing all around. There have been no problems so far and electric fencing may be overkill...but I just don't want to come home to dead chickens...so it's probably more for my piece of mind than anything else.

No, Andy is not a carpenter, but he did used to work in construction. I think he's one of those guys who can just figure things like this out in his head. He didn't even have any plans and he's never built a chicken coop/run before - he just looked at some pictures and sketched out some very basic measurements - then built as he went. It's very amazing to me. I WISH I had his skills - then I'd be building a ton of stuff! LOL
