Thank you everyone!!

LOL - I thought we were SLOW to get this built. It hasn't been the top priority and we can only work on it on the weekends and it's been months!!!

It's been really cold out lately - night time falling to 37 degrees. I think that's FREEZING. I was worried about the chickens and put a heat lamp out there for them...just to read that other chickens who live where it's really cold don't even get a heat lamp unless their water freezes over. lol I guess I'm spoiling my chickens? I don't know though cause this is what they're used to...so I think for them...this IS cold?

Beautiful Coop! I would not worry about it getting too cold and using a heat source. Where you live they will be fine even if you get some out of the ordinary weather. By the way it looks like you have a big sweetie pie there to keep them safe. Love the dog!

lol - his name is Cody and while he may keep predators out...if the chickens got out, he would LOVE to eat them. Andy says I can't blame him, after all, he IS a BIRD dog. But I think he should know the difference between birds for hunting and our own pet birds. He's beginning to figure out the difference - one he is allowed to hunt down, the other he gets beat if he goes after. I have a problem with my birds being too friendly. They like to hop up onto my lap or shoulder when I'm in there cleaning. They also come RUNNING whenever I go out there. One day I opened the run door and they all poured out. Cody was beside himself on what to do. I yelled for him to leave them be, left the door open and walked inside. Luckily, they all came running back inside after me and Cody was disappointed that none freaked out and tried to run off.

I totally understand! We have twl Labs and everyone gets along great as long as there is a fence between them. Don't want to find out what would happen if there wasn't. These guys do a great job at keeping everything off the property that doesn't belong there. i think they are just patiently waiting for the chance.
