My new coop is almost done! I have four 1-1/2 week old chicks in the brooder so time is running out. This is going to be a tractor coop when it's done.

I am a little farther along than these pictures show. I have the windows done and some of the trim on. I also started priming it. I will update with pictures as I go. I have all the pictures on MY Page. If anyone likes it and wants the plans, I have pretty detailed drawings of it.

Running out of time? If the chicks are only a few weeks old, don't you still have a few months, or are you in a warm climate? In Boise, mine will be inside for atleast 6 more weeks or so, depending on the freezing nights...

I thought it was about six weeks and they should be good to go outside?? That would put me at May 1st. The average low for that time of year would be about 45 deg. Is that too cold? I am going to insulate the coop a bit with styrofoam sheets.

I am really close now, chicks should be ready to go outside in a couple of weeks. Does it look like I will have enough ventilation? The two vents on the front are 4" x 10". They are louvered so they can be adjusted for extremely cold nights. There is also two on the back that are 3' x 10" that will be open all the time. The windows can be propped open for added ventilation during the hot summers.

All I have left is the roofing and put the wire on the run. I also have to put the wheels on.
