Yes, I think it is going to take a week for the geese to go into the new coop or their old coop. They are still young, 8 months old, so I am hoping that they go into the new coop. And giving them treats doesn't work. Thanks again for all the response. You guys are very knowledgeable.
Well, my silly Toulouse geese are not putting themselves in the coop at dusk, although they do stand at the ramp and wait for me to come out. I just have to open my arms and then they both lumber into the coop No more chasing them around. Maybe one of these nights, they will go in all by themselves. No problems, though, as it stands as of now, as I would still have to go out and lock the door.
Please, I need to find a very good home for my 2 female Toulouse geese who are 2 years old. They are sweet, don't attack, never have. They are mates and if separated, I think one or both would die.
My husband and I are both in our 60's and since I am disabled, he must take care of them. We are moving from Atascadero, CA, to Arizona soon and am unable to transport them. All I am asking is someone who loves geese and would give them a loving home to take them. They were raised with chickens and don't know if they are chickens or geese. They have a beautiful large coop that I paid $500 for but am asking $350, you haul away, with my sweet geese. If there is another site to place this on, all help is much appreciated.
Thank you for any help that you are able to give me. Atascadero is on the Central coast of California.
